Almost five years since the Syrian war broke out and created the largest refugees crisis since the World War II. Syria’s neighbouring countries are facing an unprecedented and protracted refugee crisis with spillover effects in Europe. Sarah Belhadi from La Tribune spoke to Franck Bousquet, the World Bank’s Director of Regional Programs, Partnerships and Integrated Solutions in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) about the new financing initiative to raise the funds required for countries to cope with this crisis, implemented jointly by the World Bank Group, the United Nations and the Islamic Development Bank Group.
