In the framework of the Medinas 2030 initiative, the CMI, EIB, AFD, CDC, in collaboration with l’Association de Sauvegarde de la Médina de Tunis, Municipality of Tunis, Organization of World Heritage Cities for Africa and the Middle East, and the Heritage and Historical Arab Cities Foundation, organized 2 events highlighting the importance of the role of local authorities in the rehabilitation of the Medinas and historical city centers. The 1st event entitled “Governance of the Historical and Traditional Heritage of Arab and African Cities: What is the Role of Local Authorities and Civil Society?” The 2nd event entitled “Rehabilitation of Old Housing and Urban Regeneration of Historic Centers in Tunisia.” These events gathered more than 60 participants including international organizations & Institutions, ministries, local authorities, practitioners and many other stakeholders involved in the rehabilitation of the Medinas.
