Medcities, in close coordination with CMI, organized a panel on cooperation and urban development which focused on decentralized city-to-city cooperation involving national governments, city stakeholders, and citizenship. Cooperation is considered as a tool for launching and implementing projects towards a local sustainable development and reinforces the capacity of local authorities in the design and implementation of urban policies. The session provided examples of how exchanges of experiences on sustainable development have influenced the implementation of policies.
