The CMI-World Bank Community of Practice on Employment and Safety Nets held its eighth virtual workshop involving nine countries from the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region (Djibouti, Egypt, Iraq, Jordan, Lebanon, Morocco, Palestinian Territories, Tunisia, Yemen). This workshop focused on the establishment of Unified Social Registries for social programs as a means to develop a more equitable and integrated system of social safety nets. The workshop shed the light on the Jordanian experience in developing a Unified Social Registry through a presentation delivered by Mr. Mousa Al-Tarawaneh, Communications and Media Director of Jordan’s Income and Sales Tax Department. This event constitutes the first CMI-facilitated Community of Practice virtual workshop. In line with its strategic plan, the CMI will continue providing such support, in a secretariat function.
