Rationale
The Metropolitan Workshops is an initiative by the Agency for Sustainable Mediterranean Cities and Territories (AViTeM), the Center for Mediterranean Integration (CMI) and the French Development Agency (AFD). It consists in a series of three immersive and interactive trainings targeting urban practitioners, urban planners, local government representatives, and other relevant stakeholders.
In 2021, due to the restrictions imposed by the COVID-19 Pandemic, the encounters will take place in a hybrid format with 2 webinars penciled for summer 2021 and two face to face to seminars scheduled for the fall in the metropolises of Greater Casablanca (Morocco) and Aix-Marseille-Provence (France)
The first event entitled ""Inaugural webinar of the 2021 Metropolitan Workshop Series - Focus on Territorial Resilience" will take place on June 28.
Objectives
The objective of these workshops is to build the capacities of participants and endow them with the tools to better understand and act on the transformations at work in the cities where they operate.
Participants will meet online and face to face urban actors in order to understand the changes in metropolitan territories, share innovative and efficient actions references, and elaborate a strategic and integrated approach to territorial development.
