In 2015, unemployment in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) stood at 12%, the highest regional unemployment rate in the world. Estimates suggest that the region must create 85 million jobs by 2023 to be on par with global average unemployment rates. Governments and private sector institutions are pointing to entrepreneurship as a way to create jobs, spur innovation and diversify economies regionally.
