Highlights

The objective of the session was to facilitate a dialogue between youth NGO representatives and local authorities addressing innovative practices and encouraging Mediterranean local authorities to better integrate youth and, more broadly, civil society in urban development planning. Overall, participants addressed the need for: (i) building the local government’s capacity while considering youth as key stakeholders to be empowered in the city development, (ii) create a sustainable environment regarding access to funds and data, and (iii) leverage the existing innovative initiatives in the Mediterranean region to tackle ineffective education and unemployment.
